It’s been a very long time since I last interacted with you all. I am back with some useful information that you might find helpful along the way.
It gives me immense pleasure to share with you that I recently got my first research publication published in this well-reputed journal called Biomaterials Science (Impact Factor 2020-2021 = 6.843). However, the journey was definitely not a cakewalk. I had to face a string of rejections before this journal eventually gave us a green signal. Honestly, it had been seven long months of fear, anxiety, anticipation, mental pressure, frustration and what not!! Phewww…😓
In this blog, I am going to share with you the precise details of decision time/review time of the scientific journals where I had submitted my manuscript. As mentioned before, since the period between submission to acceptance is a period of anxiety and hopefulness, we tend to keep gathering as much information on the decision time of the journal as possible. Some websites that provide these information are Scirev, Letpub, academic accelerator. I would google search this literally every other day. Such was my level of impatience 😅. But I assume that is the case with most of the scientific authors.

The manuscript was with the editor for nearly a month until we emailed them for an update. It then moved forward and kept switching between ‘With editor’ status and ‘Under review’ status and then finally on the ‘D-Day of 30th September’ we received major revision that mainly involved revising the content and formatting. Thankfully, experiment-wise our draft was sufficient! In a week, we re-submitted the revised draft and after 3 days, we received the most awaited reply – ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION 😁. Needless to say, it was a dream come true moment for me as I had yearned for it for five long years, I was on cloud 9 😉
Thanks to IJBM journal as we had received in-depth comments from its reviewers despite rejection that was truly a watershed moment for us. We had to re-write the manuscript and rework quite a lot on it. However, that eventually worked for us and Voilà….😄
