I am a Microbiogist and a Bioengineer. I pursued my graduation and post-graduation in Microbiology but I hold a doctorate degree in Bioengineering. Hence, I intend to apply bioengineering tools to treat pathogenic microorganisms 🦠. Broadly speaking, my research interest lies within the wide range of nanoengineering and drug delivery. I am amazed at how nanotechnology has overpowered the conventional forms of vaccination such as live-attenuated and killed whole organism vaccines. It is exciting how artificially designed polymeric nanoparticles deliver antigens as well as serve as adjuvants to elicit protective immune responses. I am particularly interested in developing nanovaccine platforms against infectious diseases. I am currently a postdoc at the Centre for BioSystems Science and Engineering, working in the Drug Delivery Lab.
RESEARCH
My research area broadly falls under the category of Nanomedicine, but I am particularly interested in nanoparticle-based delivery of drugs or vaccines to treat infectious diseases.
