Dr. Rituparna Saha is going to join soon as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India. She will be working with Dr. Rachit Agarwal in Centre for BioSystems Science and Engineering (BSSE). Her current research interest lies in developing nanovaccines and nanodelivery agents to treat infectious diseases. She is currently working on ultra-long acting injectable nanocrystals for the treatment of tuberculosis. In future, she wishes to develop nanovaccines against multiple infectious diseases.

Biology was her favorite subject in school and was determined to pursue her career in this field. She graduated in Microbiology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India, with a co-major in Biochemistry. When she had joined the course, it was completely new to her. However, she instantly fell in love with it and was very fascinated to know more about the microbial world. She further went on to pursue her post-graduation in Microbiology from St.Xavier’s College.

She took a break to prepare for NET and GATE Ph.D. entrance examinations and qualified both of them. She got into Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) where she pursued her Ph.D. in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering under the supervision of Dr. Prakriti Tayalia. Moving out of her comfort zone, she joined Cell and Tissue Engineering lab where her Ph.D. thesis was focused on Skin Tissue Engineering. She is proud to have gained knowledge in different disciplines and wishes to work in a direction that will allow her to combine and utilize the knowledge from both Microbiology and Bioengineering. Hence, she decided to work on nanovaccines for her postdoctoral work.

Through this platform she aims to help the budding biologists by sharing her personal notes that she made during her B.Sc. and M.Sc. These chapter-wise notes are particularly helpful from an exam point-of-view. She intends to help the young minds to outdo themselves in their careers.
